Jill and Doreen

Jill Eastmond is in conversation with her mum Doreen on the topic of working motherhood. Doreen came from Barbados to nurse in the NHS, which was actively recruiting form The Caribbean islands at that time. (Doreen came post-Windrush; on an aeroplane not a boat, she'll have you know.)  She raised Jill and siblings in the North of England and Jill went onto become a nursing assistant herself, despite her mums fears. Jill is now on a groundbreaking Kofoworola Abeni Pratt fellowship, aiming to embed an anti-racist agenda in the NHS.
