The project – entirely devised by On the Record – was imaginative, inspired and deeply educational with a firm rigour underpinning it. It demanded much of students, with high expectations of them and a structure that enabled those expectations to be met. We would love to work with On the Record again and on this basis recommend them highly to other schools or groups of young people.

I have worked with On the Record designing programmes of learning and putting together funding bids. I found On the Record to be professional and possessed of an in depth understanding of working with disengaged young people and creating platforms of assessable educational heritage opportunities.

Bishopsgate Institute was the heritage partner on the Heritage Lottery funded ‘Sounds from the Park’ oral history project delivered by On the Record in 2012-13. Throughout ‘Sounds from the Park’, Laura and Rosa were professional, competent and clear in their communications. They made every effort to ensure the project was delivered as a collective undertaking and their unwavering dedication to the community and heritage aims of a busy programme was truly inspiring. The high quality of the project outputs bore testimony to their hard work and conscientious approach as well as providing evidence of their considerable research, interpretation and copy-writing skills and experience. On a personal level, I was impressed by their patience, humility, generosity of spirit – and quiet determination to get things done! In short, it was a pleasure working with On the Record and I’m delighted that we are again partnering Laura and Rosa as they embark upon a new heritage project in 2015.
